Alaska HHA Requirements

A home health aide in Alaska needs to be a certified nursing assistant (CNA); must complete the CNA training and pass the test. Nurse Aide certification is granted by the Alaska Board of Nursing. The requirements that must be fulfilled in order to work as a nurse’s aide in Alaska are pretty straightforward. However, there is an exception for people with military experience and those who have attended half of their nursing coursework at foreign universities; these individuals can still enroll if they meet other qualifications like passing exams on American health care practices.

The prospective home health aide will need to pass a written or oral examination and then go through an interview.

They may also be required for skills evaluations that test 22 different abilities, but only five (5) of these can occur at any given time – so there’s no use feeling like you’re “on trial.”
