Home Health Aides Perform Housework?

Home health aides are responsible for performing home maintenance like housework as well as providing care to the elderly or those with disabilities.

There are so many reasons to become a HHA – many of them may surprise you.

They may do this on a part-time basis, such as when they retire from their other job, or they can make it their full-time occupation and move into an assisted home.

The home health aide’s responsibilities vary depending on what is needed in the home and how much help is required at any given time. Aides often provide light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming and laundry; doing dishes; preparing meals; grocery shopping; running errands; doing yard work if necessary.

The home health aide’s duties are not limited to just housekeeping tasks though.

They can help manage medications; provide transportation to medical appointments or social events; prepare nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements set out by a doctor or nurse practitioner; do simple craft projects for clients who enjoy engaging in activities like this as well as many other things depending on what the client needs at any given time.

HHA and Light Housekeeping

What is considered light housekeeping for a caregiver?

Light housekeeping is an important task for caregivers to help provide better care. When preparing meals, the client can count on their caregiver’s assistance in cleaning up after themselves – clearing off tables and putting dishes away before they’re done eating; making sure that clean towels/clothes are ready when needed with dirty laundry put into hamper if necessary.
